Indepth Arts News: "Greg Schultz, 'New Landscapes' and Lisa Van Wyk, 'Printed Surfaces'" 2000-06-30 until 2000-07-08 ALBANY MUSEUM Grahamstown, , ZA South Africa
The recent painting - 'New Landscapes' by South African artist Greg Schultz, question the distinction between representation and presence. The added natural materials are essentially non-illusionstic and shift the work from the realm of painting into the interface between painting and sculpture.'Printed Surfaces' by printmaker Lisa Van Wyk, explores printmaking as a form of mark making which is the integrated process in the artists exploration of image and technique. The artist works with and explores the content inherent in line and texture on different surfaces such as vinyl tiles, lamination and board.
