Works in gloss household paint on canvas convey an ambivalent impression between the structure of the facades of New York skyscrapers and abstraction, between graphic grids, fields of pop colors, and the effects of psychedelically distorted perception. Architecture is reduced to monotonous signs that wipe out spatial or psychological perspectives.

The picture space does not become a reproduction of corporate strategies; instead it is intensified in an interstitial zone through open-ended modular systems. Synchronous with a new cycle of pictures that draws on the urban backdrop of Las Vegas, the video projection am/pm places the glittering sea of lights that is Las Vegas in relation to its source of power, a gigantic, empty dam.

Sarah Morris was born in 1967 in the USA, and now lives in London and New York.
