The Wanås Foundation is pleased to announce the opening of the 10th exhibition of international artists . Wanås is a nonprofit foundation located in the South of Sweden. The site, a medieval estate, includes a castle, a barn for art and a sculpturepark. Since 1987 the park has housed a growing permanent collection by international artists. The barn is used biennially for rotating exhibitions. Included in the exhibition are works from Janine Antoni, USA; Miroslaw Balka, Poland; Monika Larsen Dennis, Sweden; Olafur Eliassson, Iceland; Paul Ramirez Jonas, USA; Patrick Killoran, USA; Tony Oursler, USA; Ann-Sofi Sidén, Sweden; Susan Weil, USA; and Robert Wilson USA.

During the years 1987 – 1999 many different projects have been realized inside the barn as well as outside in the park. The focus is on sculpture and site specific installations.

THE PARK houses several permanent works by artists from previous exhibitions : Janet Cardiff, Gloria Friedmann, Jene Highstein, Per Kirkeby, Allan McCollum, Richard Nonas, Martin Puryear, Jason Rhoades, Kathleen Schimert, Sissel Tolaas and Stefan Wewerka among others. Jeffrey Wisniewski made 1994 the outdoor installation “Solar Implode/Power House” being the first of a younger generation of American artists to work at Wanås followed by Rachel Khedoori, Thom Merrick, Jason Rhoades, Michael Joo and Roxy Paine. Martin Puryear´s Medition in a Beech Wood” was added to the park 1996 and Marina Abramovic´ 12 meter high structure “Hunt Chair for Animal Spirits “ 1998.
