Mixing Memory and Desire - The title of this exhibition originates in T.S. Eliots poem The Wasteland, 1922 and shows a hybrid composition of pictures and idioms. Their inner composition combines the prism like longing of the past, present and future as well as the dramatic contrasts of mythos and modernity as well as time. Memory and desire represent two temporary states of existance. Through memory one opens ones own space. It is a stage reflecting a lively, remembered past from which biography and collective history emerge. Desire on the other hand takes on the shape of the existential piolot.
