"Call for Entries: International Open Image 2001"
2001-06-28 until 2001-08-15
September Song, Soho MultiMedia Festival
London, , UK United Kingdom

September Song is providing both a platform for new comers and a showcase for professionals' work. In 2001 they announce an International Open Image Competition (IOI) to promote digital media and photographic work that has embraced these skills to develop an Image.

We have brought together some of the respected names in the industry to sponsor and view entrants work. The Colville Place Gallery, Internet Cameras Direct, MGI Software Corporation, DC Pro Europe, SIS - Stock Illustration Source, Hannah Gal, Corel and The Global Cafe.

There are great prizes to be won from an Olympus C-1 Digital Camera to leading edge creative software.

Winning entries will be exhibited at The Colville Place Gallery London W1.

Images are to be sent in by e-mail only (see submission guidelines for details)

The competition is open to all creatives, photographers, artists, designers, art directors, etc. Entries must be original artworks that have either been treated, manipulated or completely created on a computer. All entries will be displayed on the September Song website.

The top winning entries will be exhibited at The Colville Place Gallery London W1 in September. This is the sole UK Gallery devoted to artists who use computers to create or modify their work.

Unusually there has not been a centrally located Gallery that has regularly shown work by digital artists, at present most electronic art forums are based around the Internet.

Since July'97 Colville Place Gallery has been promoting this new wave of contemporary art. Over the past years there has been growing interest in the digital manipulation and creation of Images. Allied with this, high-specification computers have been made accessible to artists, graphic designers, typographers and imaging specialists. Together with it's sister gallery in Wiesbaden, Germany The Colville Place Gallery provides a forum for the digital art world to highlight the diversity range and quality of this new electronic media.

Internet Cameras Direct will kindly be providing the printing for the exhibition through their digital on-line printing service;-
