"Torontoniensis: Songs from the Waterfront"

Founded in 1995, the Torontoniensis Collective has presented exhibitions that deftly balance dark or humorous personal approaches. This group of talented artists provides a distinctly local and enthusiastic approach to embracing sources and methodologies.

Whether dark or humorous, the works chosen for Songs from the Waterfront contend with age-old preoccupations of loss, alienation, betrayal and death.  The artists in the current project are: John Abrams, Mark Adair, David W. Craig, Catherine Daigle, Libby Hague, Robert Houle, Tim Howe, Katherine Knight and Alistair Magee.

Using a wide range of media including photography, sculpture, video installation and painting, each artist creates a cohesive centre which offers an unfolding map for the viewer.
