"Dirula: Larrakia Artists"

Dirula is the long awaited exhibition showcasing contemporary Larrakia art practice.  Dirula, which means the Dreaming in Larrakia language, is a unique and timely exhibition featuring five Larrakia artists.

Works on show will range from paintings by the most senior Dariba (lawman) and artist Mitbul - Prince Of Wales, through to other works on canvas and three dimensional pieces by younger Larrakia artists such as Duwun, Gullawan. Topsy Secretary and Koolpinyah also feature in this exhibition.

Larrakia art is alive and well in Darwin yet there has never been an exhibition which highlights this to the broader Darwin community.  The works on show in Dirula will present the diversity and vibrancy of Larrakia art today. The exhibition is curated by Larrakia curator, Gary Lee.
