"Salvaged Materials Transformed into Art Displayed"
2008-06-19 until 2008-10-15
Envirohouse, City of Tacoma
Tacoma, WA, USA United States of America

Everything from street litter and beach debris to a Buddha head and wedding cake topper have been salvaged and transformed into 14 professional works of art on display June 19 through mid-October at the EnviroHouse, the City of Tacoma’s green building and natural landscape exhibit. Work from local artists Karen BenVeniste, Karen Fabiano and Ellen Miffitt make up the fourth recycled-content art installation at the EnviroHouse, where artwork made from at least 95 percent salvaged material is showcased. Meet the artists and learn about their environmental inspiration at the artists’ reception from 6 to 8 p.m. on June 19 at the EnviroHouse (Tacoma Landfill), 3510 S. Mullen St.

The EnviroHouse art exhibit rotates on a quarterly basis and continually seeks applications from artists with recycled-content artwork.
