Jose Freitas Cruz, Premiere Portfolio artist with absolutearts since 2001, has been selected by the jury to take part in the 1st Montijo International Biennial in the category of video with his 10 min work titled 'barca.borneo'. A jury selected the works and attributed the Acquisition Awards in the areas of Painting, Drawing, Photography, Installation and Video according to the contest regulation, attributing as well Honorific Awards to some works. The exhibition opened August 14, 2008 and continues until October 31 at Municipal Gallery of Montijo.

Public Exhibition of the chosen works and the Vespeira Awards Ceremony took place on 14th of August within the Biennial Space at the riverside area. This year, as was the custom with all previous Vespeira Awards, tribute will be paid to painter João Vieira in recognition of his merit. His show 'No Princípio Era O Verbo' will open to the public at the Municipal Gallery of Montijo.
