CLASH OF THE ARTISTS 2009 is a world class act, in its 3rd year, with an international competition that encompasses genres of visual art, fashion, film, live music, and DJ’s. This grass-roots collective is the creation of Art For Progress (www.artforprogress.org), a 501(c)3 nonprofit cutting edge organization, that holds an open-call for emerging artists with no borders, reaching as far as Africa and Japan. The global contest converges with the stellar event, Clash of the Artists, on March 14th. This first of its kind, interactive competition allows the on-line community to see global art, view short films, listen to live music and participate in a “happening”, rather than a virtual image, with over 15,000 votes cast on-line last year. This year has been even more competitive, with talented artists vying for the top 3 finalists in each category, competing live at 320 Studios in Manhattan on March 14th.

Amazing prizes and perks will be awarded to the lucky winners. The live finals event will feature a “Theatre” of visual art, film, live music, DJ’s, and a fashion show. This sets the stage for a future plan that Art For Progress will soon be bringing to life, with a concept store/art space slated for this Spring. The fabulous party is catered by Some Things Fishy Catering (www.somethingsfishycatering.com) with light fare, and spirits featuring an open bar until 10 PM sponsored by Frederick Wildman and Sons Ltd. The venue is generously provided by 320 Studios (www.320studiosnyc.com). The proceeds of the event will support the Art For Progress Arts & Humanities Education Program, which works with NYC public school kids in under-served communities. Art For Progress has been benefiting the community since 2004. CLASH OF THE ARTISTS collides as their largest annual fundraiser. Don’t miss it!
