The Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations, the City agency that enforces civil rights laws and deals with all matters of inter-group conflict and neighborhood disputes, hosts a Human Rights Awards Luncheon each year to publicly recognize and salute individuals and organizations that have improved cultural understanding and inter-group harmony in our diverse communities. This year, the Individual Award in Arts and Culture will go to absolutearts.com Premiere Artist, Gerard Di Falco.

The Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations (PCHR) will honor Helen Cunningham, Executive Director, The Samuel S. Fels Fund, and other individuals and organizations at the PCHR Annual Human Rights Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, April 7, at 12:00 p.m., in the Pennsylvania Convention Center, Ballroom A, 12th and Arch Streets.

'We thank our honorees for their service to our City,' said Rue Landau, Esq., PCHR Executive Director. 'Collectively, they work to create peaceful neighborhoods where diversity is celebrated, not feared. Their commitment and dedication to improving Philadelphia's neighborhoods is truly remarkable.' Landau added, 'It is our hope that our honorees will continue their outstanding work and inspire others to follow their lead in promoting peace and inter-group harmony throughout the city.'

Gerard DiFalco, a multi-media artist, community activist, and cultural administrator/independent curator, has given freely his time, resources, and energies over the past three-and-a-half decades to a variety of artistic and social causes and movements which advance equality and promote understanding between diverse peoples.
