Lawrence Asher Gallery in Los Angeles presents two exhibitions from April 25 through May 23, 2009; Bryan Ricci – Nature Hates Calculators and Jennifer Beedon Snow - Dwelling. Bryan Ricci returns to Lawrence Asher Gallery with a new collection of highly detailed animal, insect and bird paintings. LAG introduces Beedon Snow to Southern California through oil paintings of Mid-western bliss filtered through childhood memory.

Using a meticulous application of oil paint droplets, Bryan Ricci constructs hyper-real creatures that rise from the panel surface. A natural background created from his color photography provides the natural habitat.

The generous brush strokes capture all the bright light of an optimistic afternoon. The calm, rich and colorful execution is reminiscent of the Bay Area Figurative Movement that Jennifer Beedon Snow reinterprets inspired by her formative years in Southwestern Ohio and her adult family life in Seattle, Washington.
