Carl Sandburg commented, One of the greatest necessities in America is to discover creative solitude. Though artists draw inspiration from the outside world, a certain degree of solitude is essential for creative thought. Seclusion offers time for reflection, to extract the imagery and emotion our minds will conjure and convert them into artistic representation. Included in the exhibiton is Sarah Davis who promotes her work with a Portfolio at absolutearts.com.

Many an artist have created their most powerful work in isolation to the outside world, finding that in self-inflicted detachment they are able to extricate lost parts of themselves. Gallery RFD called for works of art that visually reflect or have been created within the confines of solitude.

Davis current work focuses on providing a physical identity for the Self and the emotional weight contained therein, specifically referencing personal memories and emotions related to various nuclear familial relationships. Her work translates inner thoughts and emotions into a metaphorical physical object, often engaging the viewer on a very intimate and visceral level.

Davis intention with this work is to translate inner thoughts and emotions into a metaphorical physical object - working towards a body of work that engages the viewer on a very intimate and visceral level, to visually draw the viewer in so they may connect themselves to the markings, even if they are unclear as to why the piece moves them so.
