Itís The Journey! is about paintings that are the expression of a chosen moment in time. An artist should take pleasure in his journey, indulging in the pure joy of playing with the paints or whatever medium used. It is the journey, not the destination!

As the artist, capturing the emotion of a place, recognition or a feeling that one can identify with is important to Marsha. To make you see what she has seen is part of her objective; but to have you feel what she felt is the ultimate goal! The journey of the mind is as important as the journey of the feet.

Marsha grew up in Smyrna and still lives in beautiful North Georgia. Imagine flowing creeks, tall trees, sunlit rocks, rolling hills, apple orchards, or the summer scent of fresh bailed hay. This has been the inspiration for the beginning of her journey and has led Marsha across the country, and to Europe and Jamaica.

Marsha's paintings are produced in the studio and outdoors (plein air) with oil, acrylic or pastel. Her plein air work is about the journey of learning to observe correctly which teaches her the colors, the atmosphere and the light. Marsha's studio work, then, is not limited by a photographic image.

Although, Marsha considers the outdoors her classroom, she has taken from many talented teachers and read many technical and inspirational art books. Her paintings have been accepted into many juried exhibitions and have won numerous awards.
