KENOSHA – Two basket workshops will be offered in November at the Kenosha Public Museum and Civil War Museum.
On Saturday, November 14 instructor Sandy Bulgrin will teach a class from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. where participants will create, “Jackie's Santa Basket.” The basket features a Santa face, including natural reed for the beard, a red hat and button eyes. The class is offered at the Kenosha Public Museum. Cost is $25 or $20 for Friends of the Museums. A supply fee of $16 is paid to the instructor.
On Sunday, November 22, Bulgrin will teach a Civil War Museum Workshop: Basket Ornaments from 12:30-4:30 p.m. Miniature baskets may be used as decorations on a Christmas tree or wreath. Students receive enough materials to weave four different ornaments. Each one is woven with dyed and natural reed. Cost of the class is $22 or $17 for Friends of the Museums. A materials fee of $10 is paid to the instructor. Samples of the baskets are on display at the museum gift shop.
