This ain’t no TRANSFORMER 2. Deep movies for deep thinkers.

Ben Balcom- Hampshire College fostered his interests in filmmaking,
literature and philosophy. His culminative thesis project was a 33
minute, three part handprocessed film that explored the functions of
formal, emotional, and political filmmaking through various devices of
narrative and abstraction. After graduating he lived in Northampton, MA
for a year and continued to work on creating systems of visual poetry
and mythology through the super-8 and 16mm film mediums. Before his
departure he was awarded a grant from the Northampton Arts Council for
his upcoming film project we are the multitudes, which will be screened
in Northampton June 2010.

Joshua Frederic Weissbach - Weissbach received his Bachelor of Arts in
Film Production from Hampshire College in May 2009. He was also the
recipient of the 2008 Cary Grant Film Award and a 2008 Princess Grace
Undergraduate Film Scholarship, both from the Princess Grace Foundation
– USA, which aided in the production of his most recent film interiors
of the liquid gap. He also received 2006 and 2009 Hampshire Independent
Productions Grants, and a 2009 Tom Joslin Fund Grant. Weissbach’s work
has been screened domestically and internationally at 2004 Northampton
Independent Film Festival where he won Best Film of Five College Area,
2006 Antimatter Underground Film Festival, 2008 Museum Fundación Curros
Enríquez, 2009 Hinterland Film Festival, 2008/2009 Five College Student
Film and Video Festival, 2005/2006 Hygienic Film Festival, 2008 Montague
Phantom Brain Exchange, and 2006/2007 No Festival Required Microcinema.
He has also shown his film and photo work at collaborative art showcases
in Western Massachusetts, and Outono Fotográfico: Ateneo de Ourense in
Ourense, Spain. His work on The Addresses, a series of experimental
documentaries, has taken him to such places as Havana, Venice, and New
Jersey.
