"Surface Tension"
This thesis exhibition by sixteen graduates of the MPS Digital Photography Department features large-format digital prints, video and books. Curated by faculty member Dan Halm.

"Photo Global: New Releases 2009"

An exhibition featuring work by students from the Photo Global Certificate Program of 2008 - 2009. Photo Global is a one-year, intensive residency for international participants offered by the BFA Photography Department at the School of Visual Arts. Curated by faculty member Marc Joseph.

"American Photographs"
This exhibition features the work of Devon Ward (BFA 2008 Photography), a 2008 recipient of the Tierney Fellowship, given to a promising BFA Photography candidate at SVA to encourage a new body of photographic work within a year of graduation.

"The Wilde Years: Four Decades of Shaping Visual Culture"
An exhibition that celebrates designers, art directors and other creative professionals who have graduated from the BFA Advertising and Graphic Design Department. Organized in recognition of Department Chair Richard Wilde's 40th anniversary at the College, the show features iconic and culturally significant works by select alumni from all four decades of Wilde's tenure.

"Octet: Codes and Contexts in Recent Art"
An exhibition of over 100 works by faculty, alumni and students from the BFA Fine Arts Department, offering a wide-ranging survey of current trends and issues in contemporary art. The exhibition was first presented at the Suna and Inan Kiraç Foundation Pera Museum in Istanbul, Turkey in fall 2009. Curated by Department Chair Suzanne Anker and faculty member Peter Hristoff.

"Outpost"
As part of a larger inquiry into the value of works of art, "Outpost" is an artistic experiment where the public is invited to barter goods and services for works of art. An unused studio space is set up as a colorful, welcoming store, and each work has an accompanying "mailbox" where interested buyers can leave their written non-monetary offers to the artist. The works on view include paintings, drawings, prints and sculptures by students in the BFA Visual and Critical Studies Department. Organized by faculty member Amy Wilson.
