Dans ses dessins, Michael Merrill se fie à sa mémoire et à ses photographies. Il utilise des règles et des mesures approximatives pour agrandir une image à partir d’une photographie. À un certain moment dans le processus de dessin, il commence à jouer avec le trait, inversant la logique visuelle de l’espace.
Michael Merrill est montréalais d’origine et expose ses oeuvres depuis 1975, et ce, tant à l’échelle nationale qu’internationale.

Michael Merrill's drawings are based on photographs and memory. He uses rulers and crude measurements to enlarge an image from a photograph. At a certain point in the drawing process he starts to play with line, inverting the visual logic of space.
Born in Montreal, Michael Merrill has been painting and exhibiting since 1975. He has exhibited both nationally and internationally.
