"Francoise Issaly : De l'illusion du Sens"
2009-11-11 until 2009-12-12
Galerie Port-Maurice
Saint-Léonard, QC, CA Canada

Galerie Port-Maurice presents Francoise Issaly in her latest exhibition "De l'illusion du Sens" from November 11 through December 12, 2009. Issaly comments about her work, "Inspired by the Buddhist philosophy of the middle path as well as other mystical traditions, I create visual spaces where realities overlap each others. I try to express a certain difficulty to be in the in-between, the oscillation, the wavering." Francoise Issaly has promoted her work with a Portfolio at absolutearts.com since 2002.

The artist explores the illusion of the two-dimensional space of the fabric while exploiting the superposition of multiple spaces. Thanks to the use of the technique of glacis, various spaces remain perceptible without however being contradicted. It combines the immense one with the tiny one to work beyond form and context. Its work consists in creating a visual space where several realities overlap.

The Galerie Port-Maurice is a municipal art gallery established in the village of Saint-Leonard en 1979. The gallery has been located in the hall of the library since 1984. Its mandate is to sensitize the population to the various contemporary trends in visual arts.

For 30 years, the gallery has contributed to the diffusion of work by professional artist and also invites local organizations and artists to present their production during the festival shutter.
