Art News:

Greatmore Studios is proud to present African Time: the first exhibition developed as part of its new resident curator programme.

Curator Yvette Dunn from Durban has brought together a diverse group of artists to create a narrative that challenges and reinvents the concept of time. Some of the works feature elements that stop, rewind and fast-forward time.

The works explore time rather than time-keeping: African Time represents our lives outside time, without the constraints of the clock ticking every second.

The artists participating are:

Tim Chalk (Scotland), Khusi Seremane (SA), Chimurenga (South Africa), Candida Pestana (Portugal), Mamela Nyamza (SA), Unati Silinga (SA), Vaun Cornell (SA), Jill Trappler (SA), Beate Spitzmuller (Germany), Ana Teresa Fernandez (Mexico, San Francisco), Noncedo Gxekwa (SA),Khing Zorro (SA).

The exhibition opens on 3rd December at 17h30 and runs until 17th December. Greatmore Art Studios is located at 47 - 49 Greatmore Street, Woodstock. The gallery is open weekdays from 10-4.
