KENOSHA – Watercolor artists are invited to enter their work in the Transparent Watercolor Society of America's upcoming exhibition at the Kenosha Public Museum. Entries are due January 15 for the juried show, which goes on display May 1 in the Museum's east gallery.

The museum will host two artists' workshops sponsored by the TWSA in conjunction with the exhibit. Exhibit jurors and nationally known artists Jean Grastorf and Frank Francese will lead the workshops, which include morning and afternoon demonstrations, group critiques and time for individual painting. Fees include lunch. People are encouraged to register soon for the workshops, as space is limited.

The Grastorf workshop will take place from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, June 7 through Friday, June 11 in the classroom at the museum. Cost is $550 or $500 for TWSA members. Grastorf has taught workshops for 30 years, juried many exhibits and is a signature member of watercolor societies throughout the United States. She was professionally trained at Rochester Institute of Technology, NY.

Francese specializes in bold washes, landscapes and clear, focused design. He will lead a workshop from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, June 14 through Friday, June 18. Cost is $525 or $475 for TWSA members.
Francese is a signature member in more than 10 art organizations and has taught more than 40 workshops in the United States. Francese has been a professional artist since 1976 and attended Western State College, Gunnison, Col.

The TWSA exhibition will be on display in the museum's east gallery May 1 through July 25, 2010.
The goal of the TWSA has been to advance the stature and foster appreciation of transparent watercolor as a major medium. TWSA recognizes an important distinction between "transparent watercolor" and "water-based mediums."

Entry forms and guidelines for the exhibition are available at the museum, or visit the TWSA web site: www.watercolors.org . For questions on the exhibition, contact exhibition chair Sheryl Fletcher Coon, 815-941-9555.
