"Call for Artists: Prairie Plein Aire Fest"

NEW FOR 2010: Prairie Plein Aire Fest - May 21 & May 24-27, 2010 in Schaumburg, Illinois. Plein aire is a French expression which means "in the open air", and is particularly used to describe the act of painting outdoors. Participating artists may check in at the Prairie Center for the Arts office to register between 8am - 6pm on Friday, May 21 or between 8am - 6pm Monday, May 24 through Wednesday, May 26. The deadline for submittal of work is by Thursday, May 27 from 8am - 2pm.

The painting or photography subject must be located in Schaumburg, IL and must be created after registration from May 21- May 27, 2010. Participating artists will be provided with a map of Schaumburg noting specific areas of scenic interest within the community; however, they are suggestions and not required locations. The size of the piece must not exceed 16 x 20.

$50 entry fee; cash prizes for the top 3 entries (pending enough artist participation).
