Art News:

Dear friends:

Please join us for a symposium and reception to honor Bill Hutson on
Thursday, February 11 beginning at Bonchek Lecture Hall (in Barshinger
Life Science and Philosophy building) at 4:45 p.m. You'll experience
a rare opportunity to hear from artists Mel Edwards, Frank Bowling,
Padmini Mongia and Hackman Scholar, Jessica Jackson '10. Jessica
recorded hours and weeks of Bill's recollections of his life as a
young artist in the midst of the abstract movement while he documented
his work, memorabilia, and the collected works of his contemporaries.
Jessica will recount her experiences and share her observations.

Following the symposium, all are invited to view the exhibition of
works by Bill Hutson and selected pieces from his personal collection
and F & M's permanent collection which are in the Dana and Rothman
galleries of The Phillips Museum (in Steinman College Center). There
will be a reception in Dana Gallery and a gallery talk by Bill Hutson
at 6:30.

The exhibitions, symposium and gallery talk with reception are free
and open to the public. Tickets are not required, but an rsvp is
appreciated (717.291.3879).

Please pass this e-mail on to those who might be interested. I hope
we will see you there.
