"Call for Artists : Seeking 300 Glass Pieces"
2010-02-04 until 2010-02-28
Saco Msueum
Saco, ME, USA United States of America

Nationally recognized sculptor and Biddeford native Celeste Roberge is seeking 300 pieces of colorless cut or pressed glass for her installation sculpture "What I Saw on the Glacier", to be presented at North Dam Mill April 3 through June 13, 2010 as part of the 2010 Mill-ennial exhibition, organized by the Saco Museum.

What I Saw on the Glacier (detail above) is inspired by the artist's residency in Reykjaik, Iceland, where she created "blue ink drawings of what felt like the liquification of the top of the world." In this special installation digital prints based on those drawings will be placed on the floor of the Project Space in North Dam Mill and covered with several hundred objects of cut glass.

If you have a piece or pieces of glass that you are willing to donate to this one-of-a-kind work of art, please deliver it to the Saco Musueum during regular public hours OR send to Saco Msueum, 371 Main Street, Saco, Maine 04072.
