The creative work of Rita Kashap is distinguished by its special relationship to traditions and history, to the art of past years, but also to the present. Characteristic for the works of the artist is the picturesque energy of a richly colored space that creates its own forms and figures. The paintings are shaped by her entirely own feeling of harmony. The tight gestures and colored movements which are ruling them are once wide - expressive, then quiet and prudent.

Beside the intensive work in the area of painting Rita Kashap never abandoned the genre of graphics. She is balancing at the edge of both artistic elements. Both of them got their own functional principles and laws and she is trying out their osculation points, and that is even poetry.

Very consistently, the cycle of her newest works is presented under the title "Homage to Friedrich S". The painter pays tribute to one certain Friedrich S. whereby she covers the designated person very discreet and very femininely with a transparent veil. Only the first letter of his name is being revealed. Intrigue and love, the ode to joy, grace and dignity, naive and sentimental poetry, everything which is finding its expression in the cycle of Kashaps new works, references to the creator and source of inspiration and his philosophical and poetical heritage. - Nika Kukhtina

Poet - Philosoph - Romantic - Rebel ! Dedicated to Friedrich Schiller.

I am Berliner-by-choice since 2002 and I feel attached to the Russian culture and tradition. German romance and philosophy means to me a new root in a new life. My newest pictures have not to be considered as an illustration of the literary works of the great poet. The intention is to declare my relatedness to his intellectual oeuvre.(Rita Kashap)
