La retrospectiva de Chiyomi Taneike Longo,
"Susurros y Expresiones" inaugurara el dia 26
de febrero, 2010 a las 19:00 hs. en la Sala
Internacional de CEARTE, Centro Estatal de
las Artes de Ensenada, Mexico, localizado en
Bvd. Lazaro Cardenas y Ave. Club Rotario,
Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico.
La clausura de la muestra sera el 1 de mayo,
2010....................................Chiyomi
Taneike Longo's retrospective, "Whispers &
Utterances" an Opening Reception will be held
on February 26th, 2010 at 7:00 pm. in the
International Room of CEARTE, Center of the
Arts, Ensenada, BC, Mexico.
The exhibition will close on May 1st.

"La Obra pictorica de Chiyomi Taneike Longo
esta basada en la apreciación de la
naturaleza que impregna todos los aspectos de
la sensibilidad japonesa. Los ritmos de la
naturaleza, los ciclos naturales, la escala y
la textura de todas las formas de la
naturaleza definen el sabor de la
civilización japonesa, del mismo modo, que en
este caso constituyen la esencia misma de la
obra de Longo, para determinar tanto el
pulso de la obra como la razón misma de su
existencia.
Longo no se limita a mirar la naturaleza, se
pierde en ella, disolviendo los límites de
la identidad y la experiencia. Estos límites
que tradicionalmente poseen los artistas
Occidentales respecto a la naturaleza, como
algo fuera de su ser , pero si algo al
alcance de su percepción. Por el contrario,
la respuesta occidental a la naturaleza
mística ha tomado el ejemplo de la de Oriente.
Longo continua esta bien establecida sub
tradición, sigue los enfoques tradicionales
del puente occidental y oriental reciente.

"Chiyomi Longos art is thus grounded in the
appreciation for nature that pervades all
aspects of the Japanese sensibility. The pace
of nature, natural cycles, and the scale and
texture of natural forms all define the
flavor of Japanese civilization; likewise,
they constitute the very core of Longos
painting, determining both the pulse of the
work and the very reason for its existence.
Longo does not merely look at nature; she
loses herself in it, dissolving the
boundaries of identity and experience. Such
boundaries traditionally prompted Occidental
artists to regard nature, however
sympathetically, as something outside their
being and, instead, something subject to
their perception. By contrast, the modernist
Western response to nature, mystic and
empathic, has taken its cue from the East.
Longo follows in this well-established
sub-tradition, continuing to bridge
traditional Eastern and recent Western
