Ann Shelton in a forest Robert Besanko Contemplations

SUMMER SEASON 2013


It's your last chance to see the Summer Season for 2013. The Season expands on ideas relating to contemporary photography. Presenting the interdisciplinary experience from the analogue to the digital in still and moving image, performance, installation, collaboration and sound. More on the exhibiting artists: Ann Shelton, Robert Besanko, René Norwie, Darragh O'Callaghan and David Sudmalis.

NEW ROBERT BESANKO WORK


Over a 12 month period ACP will allocate a gallery to the project Robert Besanko – Contemplations. The images will change each month, with a single original photograph and a new enlarged digital print version for audiences to discover and contemplate. The image for February Untitled (Mandy, Melbourne) 1971-72, will be on display for one month from January 29.

ARCHITECTURAL PHOTOGRAPHY


Learn the technicalities, such as perspective control and plane of focus. Discuss equipment, lens coverage and composition. You will develop awareness of how to employ natural lighting conditions, structure your compositions and control the mood of your image. Architectural Photographer Richard Glover takes you through the history of Architectural photography and will introduce you to his own artistic style.

Mondays 6:30-9:30pm from 04/02/2013

THE STUDIO PORTRAIT


Develop your portraiture skills by using an array of studio lighting set ups. Tutor Tom Luscombe will produce a comprehensive guide to studio tools and lights to create evocative and communicative studio portraits. Learn classic set ups, including low and high key, Rembrandt lighting, and classic "Hollywood" lighting demo.

Wednesdays 6:30-930pm from 30/01/2013


LIGHTING


Lighting is fundamental to photography. It defines form and texture, sets mood and can make or break a composition. The course gives a basic grounding in lighting techniques for both studio and location work. Learn to plan your shoot to create dramatic high-key effects or subtly sensitive illumination, master colour balance and to how use flash and light meters.

PENRITH: DIGITAL PHOTO BASICS


Learn the basics or brush up on your camera skills to unleash the photographer from within, become inspired to create and capture those special moments in time. This intensive workshop will give you a starting point to produce photographs that inspire you and others. Classes are held at  Penrith Regional Gallery & The Lewers Bequest.
