Artwork Description:
Copper River Mixed media painting on copper panel. From a chaotic artistic process emerges a serene portrait of a flowing river among colorful trees. I used several processes on his piece including: blow torch, fire and sea salt to achieve the final look. It took several layers of paint, each layer was painted on then I poured rubbing alcohol over it and set it on fire allowing the flames to consume the alcohol. For texture I applied sea salt and more paint then burned it with a hand-held blow torch. The final layers are acrylic paint and artist medium. I acquired three copper panels at one time, the two remaining are waiting to decide what they want to become.
