Artwork Description:
A Night in Tunisia a Charlie Parker jazz classic was my musical muse for this piece. Images I photographed at the ODUNDE festival in 2004 here in Philadelphia Pennsylvania of a MASAI
dance troupe inspired me to take a mystical journey, beginning in S. Africa and ending on an isle of my creation. The temples of Mexico,
the wildlife of S. Africa, Miami, and the mid-west, all helped to create a romantic paradise like the song...
Industrial materials such as sandstone, concrete, lava chips, and pumice , were used , and mediums such as pearl dust, glass bead , and metallic pigment created the head gear and jewelry.
