Philip Noyed's Artist Portfolio

Welcome to Philip Noyed's Portfolio.
These colorful action abstraction paintings are an exploration of the expressive power of form, line and symbol on a stage of converging planes. Much of the work is about pushing limits and liberation. Like dancers, figures are often in motion - acting and reacting in concert with other figures and shapes.

Ideas of musical composition influence the visual structure and tempo of the paintings. Energy is the unifying element of the work. All areas of the canvas - form, color, plane and brush stroke - are interacting in a dynamic orchestration of energy and texture. The paintings are meant to be vital, active and alive.

The paintings embody a search for meaning through story telling. They explore ideas of physics, religion, music, dance, yoga, meditation and emotion.
