Artwork Description:

I have been wanting to do something with my many photos of girls in kimono, maiko and geisha. I have collected so many stunning color palettes of the Autumn leaves from Japan, Sakura blossoms in the Spring, pine needle trees cultivated into shapes for Summer. Lily ponds and bamboo forests. Snow upon trees, and mountains for the Winter. It was the natural next step to put these images together I guess the idea has loosely stemmed from Alphonso Mucha s Art Nouveau Four Seasonsof which I am a huge fan Each background image is made up of 20-30 photographs layered and collaged together to form a new image. The lady in kimono is placed on the top as a silhouette, with the intricate details and patterns of her kimono highlighted, but not competing with the vibrant colors in the background.
