It is possible to say that the memory of a plastic artist resembles –because of gathered recollections- to an airplane’s black box, which has always been bright orange, like is known, to distinctly guarantee the findings of unfortunate flights. The idea of eviscerating the mysteries of the painter and sculptor Alvaro Daza, flew off one December afternoon of the year 2002 at the first sights of summer in Panama.
Days before, we had talked sporadically in different occasions, but that afternoon, from the tenth floor of his apartment, maestro Daza talked again about colors, besides carrying them well in the vaporous silk of his shirt with red and blue round stamps, repainted with ocher and perhaps purple spots, and with the crude attraction of the main wall in the living room. Hanging on the wall, there were three oil paintings with the physiognomy of deep woods, and one or another frame on a furniture, resting on the floor, or held on a corner. It was without a doubt, the irresistible surroundings of a paintbrush and spatula juggler, ...

| Your Personal Biography |
In the past, the Greek warriors executed the most incredible deeds , saving towns, killing monsters, rescuing maidens, all under one purpose: to reach and enjoy immortality, and ability far from despicable for any warrior or artist.
If Achilles earned his by being the creation of his inventor, then so did Homer by keeping account of his time. Therefore, following this analogy, Alvaro Daza is an artist of his time, earning great recognition not only for his work, but also because he is his greatest promoter, appropriating an unmistakable style that allows anyone who sees his work to assert that the magic inventions are no one else´s but Daza´s master pieces.
His work are explosions of color that seems to emerge from the landscape that he also paints, colors that grow and mature like his trees, which hide beneath their bushes and abstracts , the fruits of a masterly expressionism.
Therefore, our friend, “ the one of the light feet “ could comfortably enjoy his immortality in any of his paintings, without anyone ever finding his Achilles heel.
