Artist Statement:
The inspiration for my work
comes from ancient cultures
(in Africa, south America, the
middle and far east), old rock
paintings, remains of long
forgotten times, but also from
the landscapes here, around
me, in the north of the
Netherlands: wide open spaces,
canals, long roads, and a
great, beautiful sky. And in
music I find inspiration as
well.
Not in a realistic way. There
are structures, lines,
triangles, circles and stripes
in my work. Colours are
painted in many transparent
layers over each other, in my
paintings as well in my
graphic art
The works I make: paintings (
acrylic), drawings,
lithography, woodcut,
silkscreen, mixed media.
