| Why Did You Become An Artist |
is it a choice?
I'm certain we all are creative in different ways.
these are a few of mine. |

| Your Personal Biography |
born in NYC into a talented family of art lovers. my mother favored painting in oil or watercolor. my sister an art teacher, worked in batik, sculpture, watercolor as well as acrylic painting and pen and ink. i've always loved the smell of turpentine!
I have been using my hands in projects throughout my life. everything from sewing, sculpture, pottery, beadwork, newsprint, paints, sometimes mixing several into one project. i'm happiest being lost in the creative process - that's what it's all about. newsprint work in collage is my genre. this started in college and seems to always interest me as an expressive agent.
I've also expressed myself through the written word. My poetry writing started in High School, as a means of sorting out my feelings. I have continued writing poetry whenever my emotions overwhelm me: love, death, the birth of my son.
I wrote a collection of children's poetry, a sweet chronicle of childhood.
recently I went through a year long treatment to overcome hepatitis c., tough treatment,- virtually horizontal for most of the year. worked on a variety of art projects to keep myself focused, through the year. found myself desperate to discuss politics, as I didn't want to keep my frustrations inside. I decided to purge my political views onto canvas- haven't been able to stop!
presently I'm healing and detoxing from that chemo treatment, regaining my strength.
I've live in Florida with my son, dog and cat!
