Artist Statement:
The newest pieces are those
from the Sequoia series.
During our trip to the
national forrest, I could not
help but be overwhelmed by the
sights and sounds of our
surroundings. In the Sequoia
series I am really working to
capture the colors and
textures. It was an amazing
trip, I only hope I can do it
justice.

The mixmedia textures convey
the needs of the subject, the
contrasts between the light
and dark help define the depth
and feeling of space; all of
these work together to create
a moment of fragile beauty.
Finding the combination
between the texture of the
image and the message of the
piece, the viewer is
encouraged to enter the
picture
