| Biggest Artistic Inspiration |
First time I saw an O'Keeffe up close I had to know all I could about what seemed the lone woman artist. This was in the late 70's and little was written about any women at all. I found myself drawn to her use of color and minimalism. Then, the work of her contemporaries and those who have followed since in exploring color, abstract expressionism, mixed media and the like have continued to inspire and motivate me to explore and stretch as an artist. |

| Why Did You Become An Artist |
Born to it. Never wanted to do anything else. Just blessed that I've been able to make a living at doing something I love. Creating is my passion. |

| Your Personal Biography |
I was born in 1958, graduated from the Fine Arts program at the State University College of New York at Oneonta, and spent some time among the greats at the Woodstock School of Art, My work spans three decades, and includes watercolor, acrylic, oil and encaustic painting, serigraphy, etching, linocut, graphic design, and photography. I now think of myself as a mixed media painter, creating images on canvas and board and just having a great time. I'm a previous artist in residence at the Vermont Studio Center,a recipient of the 2002 Lucille Blanche Award and friend to all creatives. The Hudson Valley in New York State is home.I blog about the modern artist's life as ThePaintBoxGirl.
