Artist Statement for Jeffrey Aranita

|
"Find Hidden Faces" is a set of thirty digital prints first exhibited in Hong Kong in 2003, coincidentally during the SARS epidemic when hundreds of thousands of Hong Kong residents wore face masks in an attempt to ward off sickness. Three faces are embedded within the images, the discoverer of this challenge standing to win a substantial prix. As of April 2003, no winner has emerged.
Jeffrey du'Vallier d'Aragon Aranita, former New York City artist, born 1954, French Polynesia. Filmmaker, artist, and university professor living and working in Hong Kong since 1997.
