As an artist, Ali Gracie's main inspiration comes from nature; exploring wildlife, environment / conservation awareness and astronomy.
Abstract landscapes explore emotions and the subconscious. Capturing time and light are continuing themes in the imagery created.
Conveying a strong sense of emotional expression through the work. Emotions are expressed through the subject, sensation of colour, light, atmosphere, texture, mood and memories.
Creative Influences include:
Old masters- Caravaggio and Rembrandt. Also artists Miquel Barcelo, Susan Seldon Boulet, Brian Froud, Giger, Patrick Woodroffe and Australian artist John Olson. Contemporary influences in film , digital arts, music , also in theatre design and dance.
