Artist Statement:
From a pastoral New England landscape to the island setting of Haiti, Aleta captures the serenity, the pain and the wonders of man's world within which he lives. Connecticut artist Aleta Gudelski has been exhibited nationally in art shows and galleries. Her personal experiences in Haiti lead to a series of works painted in a multitude of mediums. This wonderful grouping was originally exhibited at the Pegasus Gallery, Middlesex Community College, Middletown, CT.
"Painting is my interior response to the world around me. I am driven, sometimes with passion sometimes with deep concern by the beauty and power, of the created world and its effect on man. My work continues to be a journey of letting go of myself and allowing the Divine to work through me and through my brush to capture images that reflect peace, at times tension and frequently subtle challenges. The Subject of my work most often reflects everyday life and encounters I experience as a woman, artist, mother, and teacher."

Aleta Gudelski, local artist who exhibits on a national levle specializes in quiet and peaceful oils of Durham's and Middlefield's barns, now lost to nature and her famous trompe l'oeil still life with fruit. Her work will be on view in the Art department.
Meet Aleta in the Art Department on Saturday at 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
Aleta will demonstrate her techniques in trompe l' oeil on Saturday from 11:00 AM to 12 Noon and from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM in the learning Center. Additional artwork will be on display and for sale in the Learning Center on Saturday.
