Artist Statement:
"Only when he no longer knows what he is doing, does the painter do good things."
-Edgar Degas
"People want to find a 'meaning' in everything and everyone. That's the disease of our age, an age that is anything but practical but believes itself to be more practical than any other age."
"The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place; from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider’s web."
"Painting is just another way of keeping a diary."
-Pablo Picasso
"He who is fixed to a star-does not change his mind."

| Biggest Artistic Inspiration |
Without my high school art teacher, Susan Lambert, and my first college instructor, Scott Rice, I would not be where I am at as an artist today. Seeing them form bonds and friendships with their students; and witnessing the passion they have for their jobs, is so inspiring to me. I want to teach at college level someday because it would be rewarding if I were given the chance to inspire other rising artists the way my mentors have inspired me. |

| Why Did You Become An Artist |
I was always the child at family functions, that was content coloring in her coloring book. I've always enjoyed losing myself in my artwork. With each new artwork, I learn something new about myself, and how I perceive the world around me. I feel that the urgency for art has always been in my blood. |

| Your Personal Biography |
I am currently an undergraduate student at Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University in Grand Rapids, MI. I am majoring in Fine Arts Painting and minoring in Illustration. I have many goals set for my future in the art world. I plan to teach 2-D studio art at college level, and ultimately would like to open my own art studio/ gallery someday. I mainly work with oils, watercolor, and gouache, but also dabble with other mediums as well. I am open to any suggestions other artists may have about my work, and would love the opportunity to sell, trade, or create art for those interested. |
