| Your Personal Biography |
I initially got interested in photography in the 1980's when a friend of mine, Norman Munroe, a professional Canadian photographer here in Nova Scotia loaned me one of his cameras for a upcoming family vacation to take some photos. It was my first experience with a professional camera and I loved it.
Not long after I received a Pentax K-1000 and started shooting nature and landscapes while on camping and hiking trips and of course my wonderful three children. I practically photographed on and off over the years.
It didn't take long before I out grew that camera and moved into the DSLR the Canon Rebel adapting how I shot pictures manually with my Pentax to the Digital Rebel. I have been shooting digital exclusively since then.
Through my work as a Registered Nurse I traveled to Northern Manitoba and really got back into shooting. I worked as an Airflight Nurse, traveling to a lot of remote areas nearly every day. It was my excuse to travel and take lots of photographs.
Using my profession as an excuse I have traveled and lived in Saskatoon, Sk, Northern Manitoba & back here in the Maritimes. I have dragged my family & friends along on many excursions throughout eastern Canada, USA, Dominica Republic, England & Scotland just to take photographs by the thousands, (they thought they were going on vacations).
I had to photograph everything, just in case I never make it back to those great places again.
I enjoy landscapes, wildlife and nature scenes. Most of my images I feature here are of the south western part of Nova Scotia. The place I grew up in and I now call home.
I enjoy exploring and experimenting with my photos and the scenes I see. Macro is a passion but photography will always be an obsession. |
