Artist Statement:
Kinetic Artist & Engineer: Marco Kruyt
As a child - born in 1975 - I was always fascinated with technology and the beauty of nature.
In my early years I developed skills in model making and RCmodels, especially flying objects.
I have studied biochemistry and engineering, and I am a part-time senior engineer, for a large contractor in the Netherlands.
In 1999 this was the basis on witch cooperation with the Antistrot members started.
I made numerous objects for the Antistrot collective, with where shown at museums and art galleries all over the Netherlands and abroad.
In 2008 I started my own business making art machines, and integrating new production technologies in to the world of kinetic arts. I am creating a workshop where I will have the capabilities I always dreamed off as a child, making machines that are here for a new world. Maybe adding a chapter to evolution itself, and making comments on the relation between man and machine....
