Artist Statement:
Biography:
My name is Elisardo Daniel
Barcala Dorado, but I had no
use it to be actor in soap
opera.
I was born in 64, in As
Pontes, a coalminer town in
province of A Coruña, Spain.
Nowadays, I’m settled in Lugo,
the little capital that has
all community services, but
the nice convivence of towns.
Tired of putting my slate
pencil in nose and ear, the
most sensational hobby in my
generation, hobby that
accounted one field hospital
near to the nursery school, I
began drawing on blackboard at
four. The theme: ANIMALS. I’ve
studied and draw animals very
hard.
I got a degree in Veterinary,
Leon University (Spain). But
I’ve always studied Zoology
and Drawing.
Veterinary science in Galicia
forced me to share space,
sweat and oxygen with animal
farm. This affects my brain…
fortunately!!.
I love ANIMALS. I love COW,
couse it’s animal, it’s a
Veterinarian subject, and is a
wonderful painting model and a
fun decorating image. Dairy
cows are food source for us
since stop doing our mom.

Mi nombre es Elisardo Daniel Barcala Dorado, pero no lo he aprovechado nunca para ser actor de culebrones.
Nací en el 64, en As Pontes, un pueblo minero a cielo abierto de la provincia de A Coruña. Hoy día estoy afincado en Lugo, la pequeña Capital que tiene todo lo de las grandes, pero con la cálida convivencia del pueblo.
Harto de introducirme el pizarrín por la nariz y el oído, cosa que causaba furor en mi generación, al tiempo que justificaba la existencia de un hospitalillo cercano al parvulario, comencé a dibujar en una pizarra a los 4 años. El tema: LOS ANIMALES. Los he estudiado y dibujado mucho.
Me licencié en Veterinaria por la Universidad de León. Pero nunca dejé de estudiar Zoología y Dibujo, ambas cosas de manera no académica, pero con muchas ganas...
Mis trabajos como Veterinario en Galicia, siempre han estado compartiendo espacio, sudores y oxígeno con el mundo agroganadero. Esto ha afectado a mi cerebro... Afortunadamente.
Me gustan los ANIMALES. Me gusta la VACA porque es un animal, es objeto del Veterinario, y es magnífico modelo para pintar y perfecta imagen de decoración. Supongo que ser fuente del alimento base por excelencia, desde que deja de serlo nuestra madre, le confiere un aura entrañable, familiar, de confianza.
