Artist Statement:
In my work of silhouettes I am interested in capturing the essence of particular moments and actions. With a minimum of details, the scenes create a familiar atmosphere that allows the viewer room for interpretation.
My medium is papercutting; I have been working in the format of books and scrolls. These books are conceived as narratives (with or without text), an easily transported form of nomadic art.
These books of papercuttings are unique art objects. Changing light and points of view offer diverse shadows.
