Artist Statement:
The creation of my pieces starts with the observation of the complex relations established between phenomena as diverse as nature’s fertility, man made objects or art history. It’s an intimate work in search of integrating conflicting forces, ultimately leading to the transmutation of the parts in to a transcending whole. The shape contains in it self the memory of the evolution from one condition to another in a process of transformation that is at the same time natural, personal and cultural. ...

Born in Lisbon
Studied History at the New University of Lisbon and Contemporary Jewellery at Ar.Co, Art School, Lisbon.
She made jewellery in the eighties. As been sculpting metals, stone and other media since the nineties. Her studio is currently situated at the International Sculpture Centre,
near Sintra.
She is a member of the Fine Arts National Society and the Portuguese Authors Society. |
