Artist Statement:
I was an educator in Ontario, Canada, for 35 years before retiring to Collingwood in 1996. I have always had an interest in art but never followed up by taking any formal training in or out of school until later in life, while taking an Education Course for my Art Specialist Certifcate at York University, I studied under the Toronto artist Martin Grove.
I paint most subjects but my interest lies in depicting pets, animals in their natural habitats, and skyscapes. The very picturesque Collingwood area which lies at the southern tip of Georgian Bay in Ontario, Canada, affords me many opportunities to view wildlife and beautiful scenes.
I painted in oils but I now enjoy the use of acrylics and its fast drying properties. I continue to learn and to practise new techniques in order to improve my proficiency in the use of acrylics. I enjoy using a bright, bold, solid palette as you can see by viewing my works here and at my site www.bcsartstudio.goldbook.ca
Please enjoy!...

| Why Did You Become An Artist |
I became an artist because of all the beauty in the world that surrounded me. The pets I had and the wildlife I saw while canoeing or visiting a zoo. The beautiful sunsets while I sat by my canoe beside a campfire. |
