Artist Statement:
Born in Lausane Switzerland in
1959, Eric Beldowski’s 20
years in photography and
movies reflect a passion for
painting with light and time.
Highlights of his varied
background include
architectural photography for
“Olympia & York”, “The Toronto
Office Guide”, “Centennial
Construction”, “Canapress”,
reproduction grade copy and
studio work for various
artists, producer and D.O.P of
rock videos, and videographer
of theatre productions.
Eric Beldowski's work
demonstrate his vision of
photography as the art of
light. Reaching back to great
photographers such as Bresson,
and to painters as diverse as
Breughel and Caravaggio, Eric
frames and composes his photos
classically. Throughout his
work Eric sees light in its
myriad forms and seeks to
recreate that as his photo.
