| Biggest Artistic Inspiration |
Dutch painter Bert Maurits gets his in inspiration from love and life.
His paintings are somehow diaries from his life and reflect his opinion and vision on the world surrounding him. He keeps his subject (woman and landscapes) close to home.
He is inspired by the expressionist from Germany, the old school Dutch painters like Frans Hals, Vermeer and Rembrandt but he loves Pop- and Street Art as well.
Maurits tries to mix these different styles to make the ultimate masterpiece.
He is still trying but in the meanwhile he makes paintings worth while looking at. |

| Why Did You Become An Artist |
The Dutch artist Bert Maurits (1960) was on grammar school already a talented drawer who on his free Wednesday afternoons rather visited the local museum than played ball with his friends, so it was not surprising that he choose for a career as an artist and devolved his own art style. |

Bert Maurits works and lives in Haarlem, Holland.
He has exhibited his work successfully in the region of Amsterdam and the surroundings of Haarlem but also worked and exposed his paintings in Brazil, Hungary and India.
