Remnants and Roots:
A sense of place is something
that I have never really had.
Growing up I often felt that I
was in the wrong country,
town, or time. We sold our
first house with the intention
of moving somewhere "perfect".
We spent a year looking for
the "perfect" place. The
journey took us across the
country. After a number of
house deals falling through we
gave up.
Ten minutes down the road we
saw the perfect house. It made
me realize that I do have
roots here in my home area.
Looking back I realize that as
I walked through the woods I
would collect momentoes. These
reflect the flora and fauna of
the area which is quite
specific.
These paintings represent my
feeling of home. ...

A sense of place is something that I have never really had. Growing up I often felt that I was in the wrong country, town, or time. We sold our first house with the intention of moving somewhere "perfect". We spent a year looking for the "perfect" place. The journey took us across the country.
