Artist Statement for Betti Pettinati Longinotti
|
|
|
Pettinati-Longinotti,sfo has been designing and producing glass art since an apprenticeship in 1977-78. She received a B.F.A. from the Maryland Institute, College of Art and her Masters from the University of the Arts, Philadelphia, with a studio major in Glass. Her work has been shown internationally.
Betti is professed to the Secular Franciscan Order and is a member of the Fraternity of St. Clare, Winston-Salem. Her spirituality is evident within the portfolio of her inspired work.
Commissions and collaborations are accepted in all facets of Architectural glass: ecclesiastical, public art, and residential installations.
Pettinati-Longinotti has also led numerous stained glass apprenticeship workshops with student collabration towards several site specific architectural installations.
Pettinati-Longinotti works primarily with antique glass, of mouthblown varieties, which is characteristic of her work. Prices for installations and autonomous works are generally quoted at $200 per sq. ft.
